The shoot was held at Carnview Farm on the Monday 28th December 2009 with 41 participants - Shooting commenced at 11:15 and everybody away at 16:00.
The mist lifted just before shooting started, the sun came out, the targets where flying well, some people where going to have a good day, some not too bad and some just shook their heads and said how did I miss that target – that’s clay pigeon shooting.
At the 50 stage there was only Gordon Roulston on 50 straight on 49 was Tony Young, Shiels Hessin, Lyle Stevenson, Jason McIntyre, Sean McGinley and 4 No on 48
Gordon Roulston finished with his 1st 100 Straight – Congratulations – His hat was forgotten but at the next shoot that will be remedied.
The traditional shoot off for the two high guns, two top scores from each class and for the first time no shoot offs to get to the high gun shoot off.
B / C - Gordon Roulston, Lyle Stevenson, Mervyn Gribbon & Davy Johnston – Gordon won the High Gun
AA / A - Tony Young, Shiels Hessin, Billy Geary, Richard Dowse all 4 clear on 1st run on the 2nd run 3 dropped the first bird on the first pair on stand 5 leaving Richard Dowse the only person to break the 3 pair – Richard won High Gun
There where 3 juniors Sam Butler, Jamie McKeown & Gareth McAuley – if Gareth had not held the trigger on stand 2 ( did it twice ) he probably would have shot off with Sam – Sam Butler Junior High Gun 93.
Prize money based on numbers in each class ( 1 in 3 )
After the presentation to the winners an election was held for USC secretary – Richard Dowse was retiring from the position – only one proposal Paul Cooper – he was elected to the position
