Held at the Route Gun Club in fairly good conditions 62 Guns took part with prize money of
£ 620.00 there is no high gun money prize but a trophy in lieu of. The day ended with four 99’s – Billy Geary, Kenny McAuley & Colin Wellburne in AA and surprise surprise Gordon Roulston in B class with a 99 ( Personal Best ) unfortunately the shoot offs where held on the Saturday and Gordon could not attend - Colin Welburne won the shoot off – he last shot here in 2003 at Harold Burke’s ground
A class had half the 20 shooters on 97 or 98 – B Class with Jackie Loughrey on a 97 shooting with his new 34” Blazer ( what a difference a new gun makes ) – C Class saw a total new comer Lyle Stevenson he has only been shooting English Skeet for 9 months and in he comes with a 98, Kenny Campbell had a 97 with another new comer Jimmy Miller on 96.
The money’s raised for charity £ 200.00 was given to the Route Gun Club treasurer for inclusion in their yearly charity payout to two local charity’s.
